Katy Perry has become the first artist in US chart history to spend an entire year in the top 10. Four of her singles have been in the Billboard Hot 100 chart separately for 52 weeks in a row. In April, Perry became only the ninth artist in US history to score four number 1 singles from the same album. E.T. You may have already noticed Ladytron's latest single 'Ace of Hz' is featured on the FIFA 2011 video game soundtrack, and as far as soundtracks go, this isn't the last time you'll see the band's name listed on one. "That's something we've definitely wanted to get into," singer Mira Aroyo tells Spinner, noting the band's interest in scoring everything from computer games to feature films. "A lot of our music has been in films, but we'd like to make more music for film and game soundtracks." The quartet's ultimate goal is to score an entire film, but they will take it one step at a time, as Aroyo explains, "at the moment, we're talking about scoring some games." Their contribution to FIFA is just the latest of several projects that boast the group's synth-powered beats, with their sonic handiwork showcased on flicks like 'August' (2008), 'Sorority Row' (2009), and last year's fashion documentary about Vogue Magazine, 'The September Issue.' Scanning this list, one can gather that Ladytron's dark and eerie electro-pop lends itself quite well to a variety of projects. But what type of film or video game does the band, themselves, think would best suit the Ladytron touch? "Something that definitely has its own mood," says Aroyo. "It's slightly melancholic but with funny elements, as well. "A horror film would be a lot of fun," she adds. Another genre that Aroyo believes to be a good fit are Westerns, which might seem a little odd without the following disclaimer: "Not in a typical Western kind of way," says Aroyo, "the way that 'There Will Be Blood' was scored." The foursome is one of the best punk groups around, playing with a femme-driven grit that, well, is sort of hard to find in these parts. I admit, I have a serious soft spot for the XX-set, but South Florida, come on! I feel like our tri-county punk scene is dominated by testosterone. Can we borrow Kathleen Hanna from Willie Mae Rock Camp and send her over to the Talent Farm? Angry Pudding will play along with some of our favorite bluesy garage rockers Stonefox, and psychedelic indie groups Psycho Daisies and the Dirty Boxes. Doors open at 8 p.m., music at 9:30. You may want to show up at Alligator Alley early because it'll feel like a packed house even if only the bands show up. Admission costs $7.

The new Bananarama album is entitled VIVA and is planned to be released in September 2009. This fantastic new album is written by Sara and Keren and produced by Ian Masterson. The first single taken from VIVA is "Love Comes".

The international version of Smiling Circle Publishing ceremony was held in the old but anticipated Drum Tower at 0:00 on January 1, 2008. Lying on Beijing’s axis, with 700 years of history, Drum Tower was decorated by high-tech lights which lit the night sky over the capital. Accompanied the warm cheers and the countdown Bell, Beijing volunteers and citizens greeted the Olympic year that they have longed for. As special guest performers, KungFu String girls brought this evening a fiery opening. The performance started at 23:30 in evening, when Beijing’s outdoor temperature was closed to 10 degrees below zero. But in order to ensure perfect performance results, they wore skirts in bitterly cold surrounding. Though wearing the least clothes among the stars, they were dancing full of charming just like beautiful butterflies. Their passionate style of performance ignited the passion of the audience, who were sparing no effort to give their most enthusiastic screams and cheers, completely forgot they were in a cold winter. According to KungFu String’s assistant Miss Shen, Girls had made a lot of efforts. They rehearsed as many as eight times, which were carried out outdoors. It was so cold that even a slight pause for a while, their fingers would lose consciousness. For the sake of withstanding chilliness, they all drank the vodka (known as the hard drinks) before performance. KungFu String played Light of Glory, which was composed by famous musician DiJi for the sake of Olympics. It is majestic and excited .it expressed people’s expectation of Olympic and confidence of the victory incisively and vividly. It is worth mentioning that KungFu String had been involved in the Olympic volunteer’s performance Last New Year's night on the same stage. Following the online release of 'Kill The Lights', we finished writing, recording and mixing eleven other songs into a similar state. We then danced and romanced our way into the loving arms of producer/engineer Dave "Rave" Ogilvie and spent two weeks holed up at Orange Studios doing some re-tracking and production work (amongst other things). Later this week, Mike and I will fly out to join Dave in Vancouver... where we plan to stand over his shoulder and heckle him as he mixes the album. As you may already know, the album release is set for September 10th-12th.

"American Idol" may feel the Love. If "American Idol" fans think Paula Abdul's antics over the last couple years have been strange, they ain't seen nothing yet. US Weekly reports that executive producer Nigel Lythgoe contacted Courtney Love about being a judge on the series. "He called," Love said in the article. "He was wondering if I was interested. I thought it was kind of weird but brilliant." Love's antics over the last few years have been a tabloid newspaper's dream. Her behaviour as a result of her much publicized drug problems have resulted in numerous trips to rehab, arrests and court dates. There is no word on whether Love's possible stint as judge will be a full-time or part-time gig. Love is currently in the studio working on the follow-up to her 2004 solo disc, "America's Sweetheart." --- By JAM! TV

Fans of pop star Kylie Minogue are waiting to hear whether two tour dates cancelled after the singer fell ill will be rescheduled. A spokesman for the singer said it was "not clear" when an announcement would be made, as promoters are still waiting for news of her recovery. On Saturday, Minogue stopped a concert at the MEN Arena in Manchester after an hour, telling fans she had a cold. Shows on Monday and Tuesday were later cancelled on doctors' orders.
