Walls Of Jericho

About

Walls of Jericho emerged from the band Earthmover. In 1999, they released their first single, and shortly after, their first EP A Day And A Thousand Years was released on Genet Records. At the turn of the millennium, they released the album The Bound Feed The Gagged, this time on the Trustkill Records label. In early 2001, drummer Wes decided to leave the band. However, his successor, Derek Grant, was recruited by another band after a short time, and the unsuccessful search for a new drummer eventually almost led to the band breaking up. After a long hiatus, Alexei Rodriguez was able to fill this position. In 2004, the album All Hail The Dead was released (again on Trustkill Records), after which Alexei also left the band. Dustin Schoenhofer, a longtime friend of the band, was able to fill the gap quickly. On 22 August 2006, the album With Devils Amongst Us All followed. It pursues a slightly more melodic direction and moves away in part from the pure hardcore of the early days.Collaboration with Corey Taylor / Redemption EPThe Redemption EP, which was released in 2008, was produced together with Slipknot and Stone Sour singer Corey Taylor. Taylor provides backing vocals alongside Kucsulain on the EP. The frontman and the band met on the Family Values Tour in 2006. Taylor liked the band's music, especially the song No Saving Me. He then offered Kusculain a collaboration. However, a collaboration on an LP has failed so far due to scheduling conflicts. Stylistically, the EP is rather atypical for Walls of Jericho, as it consists of calm songs with clean vocals. The American Dream (2008)With the release of the album The American Dream in 2008, Walls of Jericho took another musical step back toward hardcore/metal. As with With Devils Amongst Us All, the album was produced by Ben Schigel.According to Trustkill Records, Marc Brzeczek joined the band as a guitarist in mid-2011 for the EP release at the end of 2011. After a long hiatus due to a maternity break for frontwoman Candace Kucsulain, Walls of Jericho performed in Germany again in January 2012 on the Persistence Tour.
