Louise : Bio

Louise Elizabeth Nurding was born November 4, 1974, in Lewisham, England. The only daughter of parents Tim (a builder) and Lynne -- she has two brothers, Joe and Sam -- Louise has become so famous in the UK that natives know her on a first name basis.

A Stevie Wonder fan, Louise used to be part of the famed R&B group, Eternal, before deciding to fly solo in July 1995.

Despite the success that Louise saw with fellow Eternal members, Easther and Vernie Bennett, and Kelle, what with the 1993 Always and Forever album (which spawned hits such as "Stay" and "Save Our Love"), Louise wanted to branch out on her own.

The honey-haired, blue-eyed singer stayed with the same management she had during her Eternal days, and remained signed with EMI. Although on her own, Louise managed to win over a whole slew of new fans, thanks to her singing and dancing talent (and thanks to the Italia Conti stage school).

Her first single release was "Light of My Life", which was followed by "In Walked Love". Thanks to the success of both these singles, Louise worked on her debut solo album, Naked. The latter spawned successful singles such as "Undivided Love" and "One Kiss From Heaven".

During the success of Naked, Louise performed in a suggestive outfit (no, not as her album title implies) on Top of the Pops, which could have reinforced the fact that her looks and sex appeal had something to do with her success. But once 1997's Woman In Me and hits like "Arms Around the World", "Let's Go Round Again" and "All That Matters" were released, all suspicions of Louise's success were dispelled.

Louise took a 3-year hiatus, but in that time period, she married Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp (something her and Posh Spice have in common), and gained much recognition as one of the UK's hottest stars. Louise was named Second Sexiest Woman On the Planet by Sky in 1996, won Top Lass in Melody Maker, and 3 awards in the Smash Hits Poll in 1997 for Best Female Singer, Best Dressed Female and Most Fanciable Woman. FHM named Louise the Second Sexiest Woman in 1999.

Finally, after a much-anticipated return to the music scene, Louise released her third album, Elbow Beach, in 2000.

With a Top 20 hit "2 Faced", Louise has allegedly parted ways from EMI, as the 10-year contract ended. She is looking for a new distribution company, and Louise fans should rest assured she's not going anywhere, and may have a Greatest Hits album in the works.
